Sister Maria's family had forgiven Singh which they also announced in public.  Sister Maria's younger sister Selmy even tied a Rakhi to Singh in 2002 in the jail. The brother-sister relationship  is still strong.

Singh repents for what he did. "I was misled by some people and I committed the act out of childishness'', he says.

The tale of forgiveness was first heard by McGilvray from a missionary in Sister Maria's hometown in Pulluvazhi village in Kerala. Moved by the story, Mcgilvary began shooting the film in 2010 and completed it in 2013. The film has been shot in Udayanagar and Pulluvazhi.
