The deceased has been identified as 35 year old Devrat Singh. Hailing from Patna, Devrat was employed in the collection department of HDFC bank's ITO branch in Delhi.

The police have reported that Devrat's mobile phone was found lying in his hand but was switched off. Also, Devrat's house was only 200 meters from where his dead body was recovered. Devrat stayed with his family. His body has been sent for post-mortem. The weapon is yet to be recovered by the police and a case against an unknown person has been filed. The police suspects Devrat's death to be a murder which took place due to monetary issues. Police is investigating the matter.
