In 2007, Babli eloped with  Manoj to Chandigarh and on April 7 both of them got married. 



When the family got to know about the marriage of the couple, they were really furious and asked for the intervention of Khap panchayat. 

On 26 April, Babli's family lodged an FIR against Manoj for kidnapping Babli. On 15 June, Manoj appeared in court with Babli to prove that he had not kidnapped Babli but had legally married her. 

After that the couple were provided police protection. But, eventually both of them were trapped in a plan hatched by Babli's family which resulted in their death.

In this case, loving someone turned out to be fatal. And the accused were proud that they killed their daughter and did not accept the boy as their son-in-law because they didn't approve  of  the couple's relationship.
