Manoj Banwala and Babli were residents of two different villages in Haryana. Manoj belonged to Banwala gotra whereas Babli belonged to a Jat community. People who belonged to these castes were considered as siblings in spite of no common relation.
Investigations done in this case reveal, both of them came in contact in 2005 and eventually within two years there bond had become so strong that they decided to get married.
Manoj and Babli were well aware of the fact that their families wouldn't allow them to marry since they belonged to different castes.
