He wanted to execute this big robbery in order to settle down in life. Rane accompanied by his accomplices, hired a taxi to Shirdi. During the journey, they beat up the driver and took the car to Nashik road where Mannapuram office is located.  Posing as policemen, the robbers had few people handcuffed and told the staff that these people had stolen gold jewellery and sold it to Mannapuram and now they were in the office to recover it.

Believing it to be real, the employees gave them access to the office. Once they were inside the premises, using their toy guns, the accused threatened the staff and looted gold and cash and fled the place. The police has recovered 13 kg of the looted gold and all the cash.
