3) Special 26: This Akshay Kumar starrer movie inspired many robberies in the country. One such robbery took place in Maharashtra's Nashik city. The robbers posed as policemen and looted 15 kg gold and Rs. 3 lakh cash from a gold loan firm.

On October 1, 2013, 10 people, some of them posing as policemen, barged into the office of Mannapuram Gold Loan located at Nashik Road. Threatening the staff with toy guns, the men fled with 15kg gold and cash. Few days later, the incident came into light after five of the gang members namely Rupesh Ranpise, Kartik Devendra, Eknath Piste, Jeevan Singh and Deepak Dalvi were arrested by Vishnu Nagar Police Station in some other case. While interrogating these 5 men, the police learnt about the Mannapuram office robbery. During interrogations two names surfaced, Raj Rane and Chandrashekhar Rane who were the mastermind of the robbery. Both the men had moved to Nashik from Dombivli. According to police, Raj had visited office of the gold loan company to repair computers when he explored the premises. He then contacted Karthik Devendra looking for some men who looked like policemen and arranged for some uniforms. Raj Rane was inspired by the movie Special 26 which he had watched several times.
