Both the culprits were arrested and sent to jail. Chargesheet was filed and after 18 years of trial the Delhi High Court  pronounced its verdict on this gruesome terrifying murder case. Sushil Sharma  was convicted of  murder and destruction of evidence and his act was termed by the court as "an act of extreme depravity". The Delhi High Court awarded him death penalty for his inhuman act.
