44 persons detained at rave party test positive for drugs

Mumbai, Jun 22: As many as 44 persons detained during the rave party at a plush hotel in Juhu last month have tested positive for drugs, police said today.






Speaking to reporters, Mumbai police commissioner Arup Patnaik said that they have received results for 46 of the 92 persons detained at the party as of now and the results of the remaining persons including two IPL players, Rahul Sharma and Wayne Parnell (of South Africa), were yet to received.

The police had conducted raid at the rave party at Hotel Oakwood at Juhu in suburban Mumbai on May 20 and detained 92 persons.

They were allowed to leave after their samples were taken at different hospitals.

The police had also arrested Vishay Handa who organised the party under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

Those who have tested positive would also be arrested soon, police sources said.
