A police officer allegedly gunned down his aunt and injured her son over a suspected family feud in Jharkhand's East Singhbhum district on Friday, police said.
The incident took place at Kagal Nagar under Sonari police station limits in Jamshedpur.
"Sub-inspector Manoj Kumar Gupta, who is in his fifties, opened fire on his wife Punam Gupta, paternal aunt Seema Devi and her son Chandan Kumar with his service revolver," said Officer-in-Charge of Sonari police station, Naresh Sinha.

While Seema Devi died on the spot, her son and Punam Gupta have been admitted to hospital in Jamshedpur, and their condition is stated to be serious.
"The police officer in question, who is posted in Chaibasa in West Singhbhum district, is absconding," Sinha said.
Police said prima facie, family feud seems to be the reason behind the incident.
