Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, a Class 10 girl was allegedly gang raped by five of her classmates and also blackmailed by video recording of the sexual assault under Hayathnagar police station limits on the outskirts of Hyderabad.
"Police apprehended 5 juvenile boys for sexually assaulting a minor girl in limits of police station Hayathnagar. The boys and the victim girl all are friends and studying in 10th-9th standards. They sexually assaulted the girl for the first time in Aug 2022," PRO Rachakonda Police said.
"After 10 days, two of them again went and sexually abused her and recorded the act. When the same was shared with friends through WhatsApp the victim girl narrated the entire ordeal to her parents," Police informed.
"Then the parents approached the Police Hayathnagar and lodged a complaint against the boys. After completion of the medical examination of the victim and other procedures, the boys were produced before the Juvenile Justice Board for further action," PRO Rachakonda Police mentioned.
The accused had threatened the girl that if she revealed this it to anybody, they would upload the video on social media.
The police have booked five students, all minors, under the Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. They have been sent to juvenile home.
