A 30-year-old man was allegedly robbed of Rs 12 lakh at knife point on Geeta Colony flyover, police said on Saturday. One man has been arrested in connection with the incident that took place on Wednesday, they said.
After hearing the counsel for Chinmayanand and the complainant, Justice Rahul Chaturvedi reserved his order on the bail plea of the former union minister. Chinmayanand was arrested on September 21. Police had on August 27 booked him under sections 364 (kidnapping or abducting in order to murder) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code
The incident took place on Thursday when the woman had gone to the fields to relieve herself. The men dragged her to a sugarcane field and took turns to rape her, they said, adding that the victim was also beaten up when she tried to resist
