In cricket it is always said that “catches win matches”. And when you dropped too many, the bashing is obvious.

Yesterday, Pakistan played a part-time opener and wicketkeeper Umar Akmal in the crucial match against India that proved lethal for the green brigade who lost the first match of the World Cup by massive 76 runs.

Akmal, who looked uncomfortable behind the wickets throughout the match, dropped in-form Indian batsman Virat Kohli at the score of 76.

This wind-fall gain helped India, as Kohli race to his 22nd ODI hundred and set up a big total for the team.

The horrendous crime of dropping Kohli made Akmal the ‘hit-me' toy on the social media, especially in Pakistan, the country still awaiting its first win against the arch-rivals India in the world cup.

During the match, ore than the #IndvsPak, it was hasthag Akmal trending on the twitter all over the world bashing the poor cricketer for his ordinary skills behind the wicket.
