To acknowledge the contribution of the ‘Father of White Revolution’, Dr Verghese Kurien towards Milk Revolution in the country, India celebrates National Milk Day every year on November 26. His far-sighted perspective and creative thought process gave rise to Operation Flood, which is the world's largest dairy development programmer. This year, to pay tribute to his contribution Amul Girl dedicated a doodle to Kurien on his 97th birth anniversary.
Taking to their social media, Amul Coop. shared the poster with Amul Girl dedicating an ‘Amul Ratan’ to the legendary man. In the poster, Kurien’s face is featured in the background. The poster also shows two bikers which are an indication of the rally which began from Jammu on November 17 and covered various dairy farms village cooperative societies before entering Gujarat. They covered Himmatnagar, Udaipur, Sabar Dairy in Himmatnagar, Panchmahal Dairy in Godhra, Surendranagar and various other places. Amul captioned the poster as, 'Celebrating the legacy of the Milkman of India!'
Amul also shares how one should be celebrating National Milk Day. While sharing a GIF of a glass of milk, Amul writes, ‘Let us celebrate Dr. Kurien's 97th Birth Anniversary with a glass of #Amul milk.’
One of the most recognized brands in the country, Amul dedicates a doodle on every topic that is making waves in the society and win millions of hearts. Talking about Dr. Kurien, he passed away on September 9, 2012 at the age of 90 following an illness.
