George Bush passes candy to Michelle Obama at John McCain’s memorial service
There is nothing as adorable as the friendship between these former leaders of the United States. Recently during the memorial service of Senator John McCain, the camera caught Former US president George Walker Bush playfully passing on a candy to former First Lady Michelle Obama. The video went viral in no time and left the Twitterati bemused. According to the New York Post, the exchange fittingly happened during former Senator Joe Lieberman's speech at the Washington National Cathedral about the importance of reaching across political lines.
Bush, who was seated in the front pew with his wife and former First Lady Laura Bush, sneaked a piece of candy from her and handed it over to Obama who was sitting next to him. While the two come from different parties, the fondness they feel for each other definitely made many people emotional.
One Twitter user said, “I’d like to think that moments like this between W. Bush and Michelle Obama are what McCain was hoping for,” Here are some of the reactions on the video.
