Chetan Bhagat apologizes to woman and wife in an open letter
After Tanushree Dutta came out with her sexual harassment story, she gave voice to many other women who underwent the same but were unable to put it forward at that time. Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut also made her story heard that her Queen movie director Vikas Bahl made her feel uncomfortable many times while shooting the film. And now another Me Too story has surfaced the internet in which an anonymous woman has claimed that celebrated author Chetan Bhagat has tried to harass her. However, the author has taken to Facebook to issue an apology to the lady.
Screenshots of Chetan Bhagat’s conversation with an anonymous woman went viral on Friday in which the author is seen showing advances to the woman even when he is married. Accepting that the viral screenshots are indeed real, Chetan Bhagat wrote a long post on Facebook and said he was “really sorry”. The conversation was shared on the Twitter by a multimedia journalist, who has been collecting various stories of women. According to the conversation seen on the screenshot, Bhagat is seen saying, “You are sweet and cute and funny and a nice human being. So I have decided to woo you. [sic]”
In his Facebook post, Bhagat wrote, “I am really sorry to person concerned. The screenshots are of course real, and I am sorry if you felt they were wrong I hope you will accept my apology.” He further stated that the conversation is several years old and he felt a connection with the lady which is why he flirted with her.
“As I also say in the screenshots, I realized I was married and this was not about looking for any action. I just had not felt that kind of connection in a while,” he added.

The author also makes it clear that he has apologized to hia wife Anusha for doing this stupid thing and even ran this facebook post through her so that he knows that she is okay with it. “Once again, I am sorry to the person concerned, and of course most of all to Anusha. I hope you can forgive me,” he wrote.
