There have been a few wacky marriage proposals in recent memory but it would be hard to top the one made by Austin Crecelius recently.
Austin popped the question to his girlfriend Allison Boyle near the top of a roller coaster at an amusement park in Santa Claus, Indiana.
And he even got some friends to accompany him on the ride and tape the proposal for posterity!
Crecilius began his short speech just as the roller coaster began to climb a steep hill. "At one point in time you had mentioned to me that life is like a roller coaster. And it's got its up and downs, it's got twists and turns, and it even throws you for a loop sometimes. And though you can go by yourself, it's a lot more fun to go with another person. So I wanted to ask you if you wanted to be my roller coaster buddy. Allie will you marry me?" he asked.
Luckily for him, the answer was positive. His girlfriend burst into tears before nodding and eventually regained her composure to flash a lovely smile.
Crecelius even carried a ring along though it was a fake one since it could have fallen off during the nerve-wracking ride. But he proposed again with a real ring once they got down.
The confident Crecilius celebrated by revealing the T-shirt he wore underneath. It read “She Said Yes!”
Crecilius had to apologise to the amusement park, Holiday World and Splashin' Safari, for breaking the rules since cameras are prohibited on roller coasters.
Holiday World did not seem to be terribly upset by the free publicity. "May all your adventures as husband and wife make you hang on tight, scream a little, laugh a lot, and bring you happily back home again," they replied.
