Moscow: A flight was delayed by seven hours after an on board woman passenger suddenly demanded a divorce from her husband.
More than 500 passengers on the Rossiya Airlines flight from Moscow to Vladivostok were stranded at the airport after the woman announced her absurd demand.
Reports suggest the unnamed woman in her 40s boarded the aircraft with several hundred passengers.
The Rossiya Airline flight was almost ready for take off when the incident took place on Monday.
The woman demanded cabin crew let her off the aircraft after telling them she was desperate to change her relationship status.
In accordance with safety regulations, more than 500 other passengers were also forced to exit the plane and their luggage was re-screened by security, prompting the significant delay.
As per a witness, the woman was heard saying: "I am not in the mood to fly now."
It is not clear whether the woman's husband was also on the plane at the time she made her decision.
A video, uploaded on Instagram by Elena Ashtein, showed disgruntled passengers walking down the steps of the plane and back towards the airport.
A caption alongside the clip read: "One girl decided not to fly to the coastal town. Moreover, she changed her mind at the time of takeoff. [For] more than an hour [they] tried to persuade her to stay.”
"But she said that she decided to get a divorce, and she had to get out."
“After she came off it dropped off 525 passengers. According to regulations the aircraft must undergo another inspection. We were there for seven hours.”
“Russian airline has decided to remain silent. It’s a shame that this woman will not suffer any punishment.”
