New Delhi: At a time when the advertising world is achieving new heights, a Chinese advertisement has gone into the opposite direction to hit an all time low.
In a commercial for 'Qiaobi' detergent, a black man is thrown into a washing machine who later comes out as a Chinese man.
Receiving flaks from all around, the reactions on this ad have been marked with words such as 'disgusting' and 'appalling'.
As the ad begins, a young Chinese woman is seen coming face to face with a black man wearing a dirty white t-shirt, who leans in to kiss her. But, instead, he is fed a detergent capsule and dumped into a washing machine.
After a quick spin, he comes out a Chinese man with his t-shirt now dirt-free.
The ad, which aired on Chinese TV and in cinemas, has received over 3 million views.
However, many have also found the ad to be humorous in an absurd way.
Christopher Powell, a Chinese resident originally from Atlanta, posted this ad on Facebook with a caption that read: “I’am appalled”.
