Today is Social Media Day and ironically, the biggest craze among youngsters claimed a woman’s life. A Florida woman lost her life to Facebook when she posted something really crazy on Facebook. She posted that in just two years, she went from being homeless to earning a six figure income. Just two after she posted the revelation, she was shot death!
A masked person knocked her door at the wee hour of night on Jenkin’s (the woman) door. He forced himself inside as soon as she opened the door. This lead to an ugly altercation between the intruder and woman. The woman was later shot. The killer left the house immediately taking her car and left it nearby, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
The woman had three children ranging from age 1 to 12. She was rushed to a hospital where she was declared dead. This is what she posted on Facebook account.
“I’m in awe of how far I’ve come.”
She posted a picture of a conversation with a woman, who reached her out with a business plan. Jenkins asked the woman about Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University, which was offered through her church, though she couldn’t afford it at that time.
“Fast forward to now: We overcame being homeless in 2013/2014 to reaching my six figure mark in 2015 to now making multi six figures. No matter what the road looked like, I followed my heart and stuck with it growing my business. I’m saying this to say, anyone can do it. It takes determination and consistency,”
This mishap is a reminder to all of us to be extra careful before putting your extra-sensitive details on Facebook or any social media platform. Revealing sensitive details about your life can lead to unnecessary troubles. There are few things that are meant to be personal and not to be disclosed publicly. So, on this Social Media Day, let’s pledge to use the social media in a judicious and careful manner. Let it be for fun and leisure only and keep our personal life off Facebook and Twitter.
