Blue Whale Challenge made an entry in India after wreaking havoc in the rest of the world. The first case of this deadly challenge appeared in Mumbai when a 10th standard boy jumped from a multi-storey building to his death. Another victim has been claimed by the online suicide game in Madurai. A 19-year-old college student hanged himself on Wednesday in Tamil Nadu’s Madurai. The image of Blue Whale was carved on his wrist and a note was also recovered from the spot which said, “Blue Whale- This is not a game but danger. Once you enter, you can never exit".
But the infamous Blue Whale Challenge is not the only insane game in the world of ‘World Wide Web’. There are many other online games which have claimed many innocent lives in past or have the potential to do so. Lets have a look at them and refrain using them.

The Ghost Pepper Challenge
If you don’t know, let me tell you that pepper Bhoot Jholakia are the hottest pepper in the world. The challenge involved teenager putting this deadly menace in their mouth and recording their reactions. Bhoot Jholakia inflicted immense pain in the mouth and some people also suffered worse reactions. It can cause nausea, gagging and you can also land in an ER. Although, there have been no cases of deaths in this game, but eating this notorious pepper can cause deaths in children.
The Cinnamon Challenge
Cinnamon which is a health food can prove to be ghastly for health if taken in an uncontrolled manner. In this challenge, teenagers are asked to swallow a spoonful of cinnamon without drinking water. But do you know that this amount of cinnamon can cause respiratory and throat issues. It can collapse your lungs and also cause choking. There have been cases in which people died from this challenge.
The Choking Challenge
This challenge gained popularity when teenagers began choking themselves to get high. The players were actually cutting oxygen supply to their brain leading to a temporary euphoria. Imagine, what could happen if you fail to stop just in time? This single game has claimed 250 to 1,000 lives per year in the US alone.
The Car Surfing Challenge
This challenge would seem the most bizarre to the sane population but unfortunately, teenagers fell prey to this bizarre online challenge. It involves a person riding on the outside of a car on the rooftop. This can go horribly wrong. In fact, there have been numerous deaths caused by head injuries.
Ice and Salt Challenge
In this game the salt is poured on the body and immediately placing ice over it. This creates a burning sensation. The player has to bear the pain for the longest time. This game can be deadly. Ice, water and salt mixture can cause second and third-degree burns.
Internet has a plethora of information, ranging from good to diabolically evil. We need to be careful about what we're allowing inside our smartphone and computer.
