Someone has rightly said, "You can take an Indian out of India but you can't take India out of an Indian." We Indians are one of our kinds! And we ain't making a statement just like that, we are truly a league apart.
Our hearts flutter when we hear about end-of-season-sale or anything that is free! free! free! Don't be amused, we are genuinely obsessed with the word 'Free'. Like it or not, we love bombarding others with tonnes of unsolicited free advice.
Not just giving, we are at the receiving end too, from friends, partners, relatives, parents, boss, colleagues, phew, the list is so long!
The whole idea of getting something free is so cool that we just can't do away with it. Whether we need it or not, here are 7 things that we end up asking just because we feel it should be free.
Dhania-Mirchi-Neembu
When we are buying the last vegetable on the list, we go like, “Bhaiya, upar se dhania, hari mirch dalna mat bhoolna." C'mon, after purchasing more than 2 KGs of vegetables, free dhania, mirchi is so necessary! And if you don't ask, then it's a crime.
Extra Chutney
From chaat to golpappa and even while eating idli-dosa , we Indians need extra chutney. Arey bhai pure paise diye hai!
Golgappe ka Pani
After gobbling down 6-8 pani-puris, we won't stop at one bowl of free pani, we want more. And you thought that was it. No, not yet! Don't forget Dahi papadi at last. Sadda haq!
Extra polythene bag
Every time we go shopping, we end up like, "Excuse me; can I have an extra bag?"
Kuch to free dedo bhaiya
After spending thousands on buying grocery, we demand at least one thing free. It's like compensating for the money we shelled out, in some way or the other. It could be biscuits, juice bottle or even a calendar.
Condiment Satches
Though at some places oregano packets, chilli flakes, mustard and ketchup are free, we still end up asking for more so that we can secretly use them in our cooking (which rarely happens). Born cooks you see!
WiFi
The most important thing! We bet you have at least tried once to crack your neighbour's password. From railway stations to other public places, we will be super happy using free wifi.
