After touching a four-month high in August, India's wholesale price inflation (WPI) came down to 2.6 per cent in September, government data showed on Monday.
The annual rate of inflation, based on monthly WPI, stood at 2.60 per cent (provisional) for the month of September, 2017 (over September, 2016) as compared to 3.24 per cent (provisional) for the previous month and 1.36 per cent during the corresponding month of the previous year, a Ministry of Commerce & Industry statement said.
Build up inflation rate in the financial year so far was 0.97 per cent compared to a build up rate of 3.44% in the corresponding period of the previous year, the statement said.
