Fuel rates continued to hike on Sunday. After crossing Rs 80 mark, petrol prices surged by 12 paise in Delhi. As per revised rates, petrol and diesel prices in Delhi stood at Rs 80.50 per litre and Rs 72.61 per litre respectively.
Rates of both petrol and diesel were hiked in Mumbai too. The revised rates in the financial capital for both petrol and diesel stood at Rs 87.89 and Rs 77.09 respectively.
Earlier on Sunday, petrol prices reached the Rs 80/litre mark in Delhi. In Delhi, the petrol and diesel prices were being retailed for Rs 80.38 and Rs 72.51 per litre respectively.
Meanwhile, Congress is all set to organise a nationwide shutdown on Monday over rising fuel prices in the country. The announcement was made by Congress party leaders on Thursday, who also asked other opposition parties and civil society groups to join their protest against the government.
