Markets rebound in early trade

The BSE Sensex opened firm and soared over 500 points to an intra-day high of 59,321.65, but succumbed to profit-booking towards the end of the session.
The 30-share BSE Sensex suddenly came under selling pressure towards the fag-end, tumbling 310.71 points or 0.53 percent to settle at 58,774.72. Similarly, the broader NSE Nifty dropped 82.50 points or 0.47 percent to 17,522.45.

Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) were net buyers in the Indian capital market as they bought shares worth Rs 1,376.84 crore on Tuesday, according to exchange data.

Sensex update: Benchmark indices fell in early trade amid weak trends in global markets, fresh funds outflows and firm crude oil prices.
HDFC twins and ICICI Bank also declined. HUL, Dr Reddy's, L&T, Titan, Nestle, Tata Steel, Maruti and Sun Pharma were also among the losers. On the other hand, Bajaj Finserv bucked the trend, spurting by 5.58 per cent. Bharti Airtel and Reliance Industries advanced as the spectrum auction started.
The 30-share BSE Sensex advanced 246.47 points or 0.45 per cent to settle at 54,767.62 after starting the trade on a weak note. The broader NSE Nifty climbed 62.05 points or 0.38 per cent to close at 16,340.55.
At the interbank forex market, the local unit opened at 79.76 against the greenback but later lost ground to touch the low mark of 80.00 against the American currency.
