New Delhi: Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Note 3 starting at a price of Rs. 9,999. The smartphone goes on sale on March 9 via mi.com and Amazon India. The Redmi Note 3 has two variants— 16GB and 32GB. The 16GB variant is priced at Rs 9,999, while the 32GB variant is priced at Rs 11,999.
Hugo Barra, Vice President of International Xiaomi, also disclosed that the Xiaomi Mi5 will be launched in a month. He also said that the Mi Bluetooth speakers will soon launch in India at a price of Rs. 1,999. A Mi power bank with 20,000mAH battery is also slated to be unveiled soon.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD display with 1080p resolution encased within a metallic unibody. It offers some unique features such as sunlight, night and reading modes for a better user experience. It runs on Android Lollipop-based MIUI 7 and is powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 hexa-core processor.
The smartphone features a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera with PDAF, HDR, face and smile detection with a dual-tone LED flash. Also, there is a 5MP front camera with 36 smart beauty profiles for quality selfies.
The 16GB variant comes with 2GB of RAM and 4,000mAh battery, and the 32GB variant with 3GB of RAM and a 4,050mAh battery. In terms of connectivity options the smartphone comes with 4G LTE support, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11ac and GPS. It also has an impressive fingerprint scanner.
Redmi Note 3 has a hybrid SIM slot, which means you can either use it as a dual-SIM or a single macro-SIM along with a microSD card.
