New Delhi: Despite Team India being down below in the list of bookies for World Cup title contender because of their recent poor showing, many known and no-so well known Indian companies are vying to support the “Team Blue.”

Yepme.com, PayTM, Alloyed, Iball, Nestle, Marico and Raymond are among the companies jostling to grab the slots during the live coverage of the mega event, starting from February 14.

ESPN-Starsports, the official broadcaster of the event, has strategically clubbed 15 important contests including quarter finals, semifinals and the final, in a package. And the companies are finding the Rs 10 lakh per ten second rate as reasonable enough.

A company which has bought a slot, says in the last edition the rates were raised to Rs 24 lakh per second for the final game leading to many companies backing out. However, the channel has brought down the rates to bring back advertisers.

The channel will be broadcasting live matches in six regional languages to attract the local brands.
