Mumbai, Oct 1: The domestic arm of German car major Volkswagen reported a 39 per cent rise in sales to 6,845 vehicles in September over the same month last year, when its sales stood at 4,663 units.
Despite the sluggish market, its two popular models— the Polo and the Vento—continued to bring in the numbers for the brand, with a total of 6,335 units sold in September this year.
The recently-launched New Jetta also saw an impressive response with 423 sales in the reporting month.
“Despite the low sentiment and slowdown in the market, we are happy to achieve a positive growth. This showcases that our offers for customers, including the Polo and the Vento Breeze action models, have been well accepted,” Neeraj Garg, Member of Board and Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Group Sales India said.
