New Delhi: Volkswagen India has launched its hot and powerful hatch, the all new Volkswagen Polo GT TSI, in the Indian market today at Rs 7.99 lakh, ex-showroom, New Delhi. The GT stands for Gran Tourismo or Grand Tourer, which is an Italian moniker for sporty cars that are tuned to deliver hours of great performance at high speeds over long distances.
The new VW hatchback is powered by a 1.2L TSI petrol unit that is rated at 105 bhp power and 175 Nm torque – making it one of the most powerful petrol hatchbacks in India. It is the first petrol hatchback in India to receive turbo charging and direct injection besides coming in with a 7 speed dual clutch automatic gear box.
The car goes from 0-100 in 9.7 seconds and claims a mileage of 17.2 kmpl.
