Vishal Sikka has undertaken the biggest restructuring exercise in Infosys since he took over as the company's CEO in August last year.
He has reshuffled the responsibilities of the top executives of the subsidiary companies. Sikka has also reorganized the delivery function of the Indian IT giant.
The products and platforms subsidiary of Infosys Edgerverve Systems will now be headed by Michael Reh who will also head the company's banking product Finacle. Reh is a former colleague of Sikka at SAP. Edgeverve Systems was earlier headed by Sanjay Purohit.
Purohit has been moved to a delivery function; he will be the head of management consulting services.
A CEO for Edgeverve Systems would be appointed very soon who will report to Reh. The structure of Edgeverve Systems is modeled like a software startup.
The performance of Edgeverve Systems has been quite disappointing in recent months, prompting the change at the top management. The contribution of the products and platforms business in total revenue of the company has not seen any much increase over the last few years.
The company hopes that Reh's background in a product company like SAP will make him a better choice to head Edgeverve Systems.
