New Delhi: If you're in the market for a premium smartphone that oozes luxury in every respect, then it might be worth looking at the new Vertu Constellation, the smartphone that carries Rs 4.1 lakh price tag. No doubt, this is a fashion phone. It's a symbol; a statement piece that's same to the smartphone equivalent of a Rolex watch.The handcrafted Constellation has a 4.3-inch 1280 x 720 pixel screen that's coated in a 5.1-inch sheet of sapphire crystal. It's super-hard and scratch-resistant - except from diamond. The casing of the smartphone is made from grade 5 titanium that gives it twice the strength of stainless steel but half the weight. The grade 5 titanium is the same stuff that goes into making aviation engine parts such as turbines. The back of the handset comes is made of calf leather and is available in a range of colours.Under the hood, Vertu Constellation comes with a dual-core 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, and has a 13MP rear-facing camera with a twin LED flash along with 32GB of on-board storage. Speed-wise the dual-core Snapdragon 1.7Ghz CPU may not be top-of-the-range, but its Vertu Life app is surely a great addition. The Vertu Life app brings up recommendations, including map-based exclusives around the globe. Earlier, Vertu came out with its Android handset Vertu Ti in February and, like the Ti, the Constellation comes with exclusive features that Vertu is known for.The Vertu Life feature offers exclusive access to private members' clubs and invite-only events around the world while Vertu Certainty offers protection for both you and the handset through Vertu's partnerships with security companies.Silent Circle provides the encryption service for the phone's emails, texts and voice calls while Kaspersky handles the anti-virus. Personal and corporate security is provided by Protector Services Group.The Vertu Constellation is available from October, at Rs 4.1 lakh.
