New Delhi: While the original Galaxy Grand Quattro was still doing well in lot of Asian countries including India, Samsung felt the need to fill the mid-range space with its yet another high-performing handset, the Galaxy Win Pro.
Win Pro G3812 is the successor to Samsung Galaxy Win I8550, which was launched in India as the Galaxy Grand Quattro.
The Samsung Galaxy Win Pro has already appeared on the Korean manufacturer's China web portal and with the expectations of it soon launching in the Indian market.
The Win Pro retains most of the features of its predecessor with some minor improvements. The phone sports a better 4.5-inch qHD display, compared to the 4.7-inch WVGA display on its predecessor, offering a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels.
The rest of the specifications remain the same. It is a dual-SIM phone powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal memory which can be further expanded via a microSD card slot. The device runs on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. There's a 5MP rear-facing camera with Auto Focus and LED Flash, along with a VGA quality front facing camera. The back camera is also capable of recording video in 720p HD format.
Samsung is on a launching spree with recent launches including the Galaxy S Duos 2 and the Galaxy Grand 2 recently launched and the likes of the Galaxy Note 3 Lite, Galaxy Grand Lite and the next-generation Galaxy Gear smartwatch reportedly on their way.
The battery capacity on the Win Pro model is 2100 mAh, nearly 100mAh more than its predecessor.
Looking at the specs: the two major differences that are evident as of now are: a slightly higher resolution of qHD (960×540 pixels) as compared to TFT screen supporting 800×480 pixels resolution, a minor improvement in battery and a sailing on Android 4.2.
If the company keeps the price tag same as that of Grand Quattro, certainly the phone comes as a decent buy.
