New Delhi: Chinese handset maker has launched mid-range Android handset, called the Pioneer P3, in India at Rs 7,499.
The P3 comes with a 4.3-inch display which offers a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, meaning you get decent text and video on the screen. The device comes with a 1.3 GHz quad core processor, Mali 400MP GPU, and runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system.
In terms of storage, it offers 512 MB of RAM, and 4 GB of internal memory, which can be expanded to 32 GB. The Pioneer P3 has a 1700 mAh battery which claims to provide 8-12 hours of talktime and 10-12 days of standby.
The 11.1 mm thick smartphone has a 5 megapixel rear auto focus camera and a 0.3 megapixel front camera. Looking at the price point, it is still a decent camera. There is an LED flash in its rear to help the 5 megapixel camera click pictures in low light. The rear camera is claimed to be capable of recording high definition videos. It has FM radio as well.
Other features include guest mode, OTA (Over the Air) function which allows for software upgrades, and Gionee Xender that lets user share big files easily.
Gionee P3 will be available in Black and White. It is priced at Rs 7,499.
Early verdict: A decent smartphone with an affordable price tag.
