Mumbai, Jan 20: UltraTech Cement, an Aditya Birla Group company, reported a drop of 3 per cent in its net profit for the third quarter to Rs 601 crore from Rs 617 crore it registered a years ago period due to sharp increase in operational cost.
The company's reported a rise of six per cent in net sales in the said period to Rs 4,857 crore from Rs 4,565 crore reported a year earlier.
At the same time, it said its cement sales were almost stagnant at 9.62 lakh tonnes against 9.61 lakh tonnes registered in the same period last year. The company foresees profit margins remaining range bound with the increase in input cost in line with general inflation.
