New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today met with CEOs of some of the world's largest companies and pitched for his Digital India campaign.
The initiative got thumbs up from technocrats and some of them even promised to contribute.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen, CEO of Cisco John Chambers, and Google CEO Sunder Pichai were among the people who met with the Prime Minister.
PM also met Apple CEO Tim Cook on his trip to Silicon Valley.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella:
Nadella promised that his company will empower some five lakh Indian villages with low-cost broadband technology.
"Digital India will bring about solutions for the challenge of digital divide," he said.
Google CEO Sunder Pichai:
Google to provide free Wi-Fi in 500 railway stations in India, Pichai announced during the meeting with Modi.
"I am not just excited because I grew up in India, I am excited because I deeply care about technology and know that India will play a big part in its future," he said.
Qualcomm executive chairman Paul Jacobs:
Qualcomm said it would invest up to $150 million (Rs.9.8 billion) in Indian startups via a venture fund after Prime Minister Narendra Modi met top tech honchos in the Silicon Valley during his US visit.
"We share Modi's vision to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. India is at the cusp of a technology revolution and mobile technologies will lay the foundation for Digital India," said Paul Jacobs.
Apple CEO Tim Cook:
Narendra Modi invited Apple to set up a manufacturing base in India and its CEO Tim Cook responded positively.
Cook expressed his great desire to be a partner in Prime Minister's Digital India initiative, which he thought was a transformative initiative, which could be a real game changer in India.
Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayan:
Another Indian origin CEO Narayan said that the Digital India initiative would "transform India into a digitally empowered" knowledge economy. Prime Minister's vision of Digital India is exciting, he said.
