Engine and performanceThe petrol version of the Grand i10 is a 1.2-litre Kappa Dual VTVT (variable timing valve train) based petrol mill, which can displace about 1197cc. The engine can generate a maximum power of about 82bhp at 6000rpm, while yielding a 114Nm of peak torque at 4000rpm. It comes with both a five-speed manual transmission gearbox and 4-speed automatic. The diesel variant is a new 1.1-litre U2 CRDi mill, which is being manufactured at company's Chennai based plant. This engine displaces 1120cc along with a peak power output of 70bhp at 4000rpm in combination with a maximum torque yield of 160Nm at 1500 to 2750rpm.
