Indian automaker Tata Motors has launched the top end variant of Safari Storme VARICOR 400 at Rs. 13.25 lacs. The SUV would be available in both 4x2 and 4x4 configuration with the latter being offered at Rs. 14.60 lacs (ex-Showroom, Delhi). The lower variants of the car are doing pretty well in the market and keeping that in mind, Tata has now introduced a top variant.
The top variant of Tata Safari Storme VARICOR 400 uses the same engine as the lower variant but is tuned to deliver higher numbers as far as power and torque are concerned. The lower variant of the SUV uses the 2.2 litre VARICOR engine that works with the 5-speed manual transmission system and generates 150PS power and 320Nm torque.
The top trim would use the same engine which is tuned to deliver 156PS power and peak torque of 400Nm. This means there is a 25 percent increase in the amount of torque twisted away by the SUV.
The new high-end model of Tata Safari Storme VARICOR 400 will further benefit from the fact that the vehicle gets a new 6-speed manual transmission system. The VX trim of Tata Safari Storme VARICOR 400 comes with the 4x4 configuration that also has the luxury of the electronic shift-on-the-fly along with limited slip differential. The SUV gives an ARAI certified mileage of 13.5kmpl.
When it comes to aesthetics, the new Tata Safari Storme VARICOR 400 variant does not get any changes or updates except the presence of VARICOR 400 badges. Step inside the cabin of the SUV and you will find the new integrated Harman infotainment system as the only change.
This new infotainment system works well with plenty of other features like speed sensitive volume control, reverse parking sensor, Bluetooth and many more. There are plenty of safety features as well that would deliver a lot of convenience for the drivers including dual airbags, EBD and ABS.
Mr. Mayank Pareek, who is the President for Passenger Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors was elated on the launch of the new powerful variant of Tata Safari Storme VARICOR 400 stating that the company wants to capitalize on the tremendous road presence that the SUV already has on Indian roads. Therefore, Tata wants to deliver superior on-road and off-road performance with the improved capabilities of the SUV.
He further emphasized on the prowess of the new VARICOR 400 engine along with the new 6-speed manual transmission system and said that the presence of the two features would boost the performance of the SUV's engine.
Mr. Mayank Pareek also said that the company will continue to listen to its customers and deliver what they need and desire from a car. He further showed his confidence in the Horizonext strategy of the firm for further popularizing and enriching the portfolio.
The SUV market is more popular than ever and Tata is doing the right thing by not only keeping up with the competition but also exceeding them in terms of specs and performance.
