Mumbai, Oct 7: Tata Motors is showcasing its Manza sedan and Prima range of world trucks at the Johannesburg International Motor Show in South Africa, with plans to formally launch these vehicles in the country early next year.
Both the vehicles will be available in South Africa early next year, Tata Motors said in a statement here, adding that it will sell six Prima tractor and tipper models in the country.
“The new Tata vehicles being introduced in South Africa will bolster our already significant portfolio in the country. These introductions benefit from our innovations and learnings from South Africa's customers,” Tata Motors Managing Director (India Operations) P M Telang said.
“We see Africa as a region of tremendous potential for the group and our participation in the Motor Show with the introduction of the latest products will serve to further strengthen the Tata brand in these markets.
“In South Africa, the auto industry is making giant strides and we are happy to contribute to this growth,” Tata International Managing Director Noel Tata said.
The Prima range was launched in 2008 as the company's global truck and was jointly developed by Tata Motors and its two subsidiaries—Tata Daewoo Commercial Vehicle in South Korea and Tata Motors European Technical Centre in Britain.
The auto giant also showcased a host of products and future technologies at the ongoing Johannesburg International Motor Show. PTI
