New Delhi, Oct 1: BSNL has launched a new tablet called WishTel Ira Icon, which comes with a 7-inch TFT LCD capacitive multi touchscreen with 800x480 pixels resolution. BSNL has also announced that buyers of the tablet will get 2 GB of data for 60 days for free, by either opting for its 2G or 3G connection.
The WishTel Ira Icon runs Android 4.0 aka Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, and is powered by a 1.2 GHz processor. It has 1 GB of RAM that would be enough to run most of the applications and games found on the Google Play Store.
The tablet has built-in 3G SIM slot and also supports WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. It comes with built-in stereo speakers and a microphone and supports SIM calling.
The tablet is priced at Rs 10,000 which is considerably cheaper compared to Reliance's 3G Tab V9A which retails at Rs 13,999. BSNL also sells three tablets from Pantel.
WishTel Ira Icon also gets ports like USB, SD card, and HDMI. It has a 0.3 megapixel front camera while a 2 megapixel camera is there on its back side. It has 4 GB internal memory, which is though expandable up to 32 GB.
The tablet comes with a 4000 mAh battery with claimed browsing time of 4-5 hours.
