New Delhi: Sony's imaging-centric smartphone, the Xperia Z1, which has been listed on Flipkart as coming soon, would be launched in India on September 18.
With Z1 Sony continues the tradition of coming up with compact and water-and-dustproof smartphones. The latest Sony flagship builds on the existing platform made by the Xperia Z and the Z Ultra. Sony has chosen India to be one of the first markets to get the taste of Xperia Z1.
The highlight of Xperia Z1, which has 5-inch FullHD screen, is its 20.7 mega pixels primary camera. The camera also features optical image stabilization and is said to rival the camera in Lumia 1020 in terms of performance. Z1 also has a waterproof and dustproof design. It is powered by 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, which is theoretically the fastest mobile processor available at the moment. The device will come with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage.
Constructed with tempered glass and aluminium framing, the 5-inch phone comes with full HD Triluminos capacitive display with a pixel resolution of 1080 x 1920 and a pixel density of 441ppi.

Also, unlike the earlier Sony model, which placed a flap over the headphone jack, the new smartphone comes with a waterproof jack itself, meaning that you will not need to pull out the flap every time you want to plug your headphones in.
The smartphone comes with sensors like accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor and a compass.
