New Delhi: India's second largest E-commerce Company Snapdeal today distanced itself from comments made by its brand ambassador actor Aamir Khan over growing intolerance in the country.
In a media statement issued today the ecommerce player said ‘” Snapdeal is neither connected nor plays a role in comments made by Aamir Khan in his personal capacity”
"The Snapdeal is a proud Indian company and is focused on building an inclusive Digital India.” it added.

The company also said that it was positively impacting thousands of small businesses and millions of consumers in India and committed to create one million successful online entrepreneurs in India.
However the company remained silent on whether it would continue with Aamir as its brand ambassador.
The e-commerce player was forced to issue a statement after it faced backlash from its users over Amir Khan remarks that his wife feared for her children and asked him if they should leave India.

A large number of smartphone users uninstalled the app and also gave a 1-star rating to the app on Google play store.
Some users even demanded that Aamir be removed as the brand ambassador of the company in the comment section on the Play Store.
While the protestors gave a 1-star rating and bad reviews, another section of users countered them by giving a 5-star rating. While the 5-star rating for the Snapdeal app still outnumbers 1-star rating, there is a significant surge in lowest ratings for the app.
Aamir had on Monday said he was “alarmed” by a number of incidents and his wife Kiran Rao even suggested that they should probably leave the country, drawing sharp reactions from the BJP and sections in the film industry.
The 50-year-old actor also supported those returning their awards, saying one of the ways for creative people to express their dissatisfaction or disappointment is to return their awards.
He said he also feels that the sense of insecurity and fear has been growing in the past six or eight months.
