New Delhi, Jan 9: Simmtronics has launched its second Android tablet in the Indian market, called the XPAD X-801. The new 8 inch tablet comes with voice calling support as well as GPRS connectivity. Simmtronics is also offering a detachable keyboard case and speaker for free with the tablet.
Simmtronics XPAD X-801 has a dedicated USB port to connect data card or pen drives besides there is Bluetooth and WiFi in the tablet for connectivity. It works on Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0 and runs on a 1.2 GHz Cortex A8 processor. The tablet features an 8 inch capacitive multi touch screen with 800x600 pixel resolution. It has gravity and accelerator sensors.
X-801 has been manufactured in Simmtronics' factory in India itself. The company has said that it will add more products in this series of XPAD tablets and smartphones for the India Market.
Indrajit Sabharwal, managing director, Simmtronics said, "In our strategy to reach out to our audience with most innovative products, we are launching X-801 which features built-in voice calling and 2G connectivity support. This tablet PC enables you to make phone calls from your tablet and to surf internet with 2G speed via the SIM card. It also supports USB dongles to surf internet on a 3G speed. Its 8 inch widescreen elegantly displays large format magazines and apps and let people to use it either vertically or horizontally."
The tablet features a 4000 mAH battery, a 2.0 megapixel at the back and 0.3 megapixel camera in the front. The tablet comes with 512 MB RAM and 8 GB internal memory that is expandable by up to 32 GB through a micro SD card. The XPAD X-801 will soon be available in India for Rs 8,499.
