Mumbai: A benchmark index of Indian equities markets, the 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex), Tuesday was trading flat at 10.72 points or 0.04 percent up in the early session.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading 3.35 points or 0.04 percent up at 8758.30 points.
The Sensex of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 29,016.55 points, was trading at 28,985.83 points (at 9.24 a.m.) in the early session, up 10.72 points or 0.04 percent from the previous day's close at 28,975.11 points.
The Sensex has touched a high of 29,054.82 points and a low of 28,960.50 points in the trade so far.
Good buying was observed in consumer durables and capital goods sectors; while selling pressure was seen in banking and auto sectors.
The S&P consumer durables index gained by 81.91 points and capital goods index moved up by 80.92 points. However, bankex dropped by 71.24 points and auto index fell by 21.79 points.
