New Delhi: The much-leaked metal-clad Samsung Galaxy A7 smartphone has finally gone official.

Hours after showcasing the Galaxy A7 in the Malaysian market, Samsung has now officially launched the phone in Philippines. Tech blog YugaTech says the phone will retail for PHP 24,990 ($555). However, there is no word on its availability.

Like other Galaxy A-series phones, Galaxy A7 also sports a metal chassis and looks similar to its A-series cousins.

The highlight of the Galaxy A7 are its 6.3mm thickness which makes it the slimmest smartphone ever made by Samsung (though it's not much thinner than the Galaxy A5, or the Galaxy Alpha).

The handset comes with a 5.5-inch full HD Super AMOLED display and is powered by a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor, along with 2GB of RAM. Internal storage includes 16GB and it runs Android 4.4 with TouchWiz UI.

Samsung Galaxy A7 comes with a 12-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash along with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Connectivity options include NFC, LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS. The device is fueled by a 2600mAh battery.
