Bengaluru: South Korean electronics giant Samsung on Wednesday said it is launching Galaxy Tab S2 at Rs.39,400. The company claimed that it is the world's slimmest tablet.
"The Galaxy Tab S2 is the world's slimmest tablet. The Galaxy Tab S2 combines features that enhance productivity and usability for a complete user experience powered by 4G data connectivity and speed," Manu Sharma, director, mobile business at Samsung Electronics, said.
"We believe the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is the most complete personal visual device designed for consumers to carry and use anywhere," Sharma said.
"Given our commitment to the Indian market, the Galaxy Tab S2 is another contribution of Samsung to the Make in India campaign. This product will be made in India and made for India," he added.
The new tablet will come with a 9.7-inch version with Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi, LTE, 32 GB in-built memory expandable up to 128 GB with external storage. It will be available for sale across all retail outlets from September 2 onwards. In India, the Galaxy Tab S2 comes pre-loaded with Galaxy gifts worth Rs.31,000.
The tablet will be powered by Samsung's Exynos octa-core processor (Quad 1.9GHz + Quad 1.3GHz) and a 3GB RAM unit.
The rear eight-megapixel camera will come with auto-focus and the lens will have an aperture of f1.9. The front camera will be a 2.1-megapixel unit. The tablet will draw power from a 5,870 mAH battery.
