New Delhi: The recently-unveiled Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Gear smartwatch are coming to India on September 17. The devices would go on sale from September 25.
Samsung had earlier unveiled the three devices at its Galaxy Unpacked event in Berlin. The Galaxy Gear smartwatch works as an accessory to its market-leading Galaxy smartphones, offering basic functions like photos, hands-free calls and instant messaging.
The Galaxy Note 3 features a 5.7-inch Full HD Super Amoled display and is expected to come with the 1.9 GHz Samsung Exynos 5 octa core processor. This processor consists of a quad core Cortex-A15 processor clocked at 1.9 GHz to take care of heavy processing part and another quad core Cortex-A7 processor clocked at 1.3 GHz to take care of the operating system and user interface, offering battery savings and performance at the same time.
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 packs 3 GB RAM and comes in 32 GB or 64 GB storage variants. Both the variants though have a memory card slot to support up to 64 GB micro SD card. The smartphone also has a stereo speaker and a 13 megapixel BSI sensor clad camera with auto focus and LED Flash. This camera sensor possesses zero shutter lag. The camera is capable of recording ultra-high definition videos at 30 frames per second and smooth motion full HD videos at 60 frames per second. Also, users can experiment with the slow motion HD videos at 120 frames per second.
Samsung has layered the Nature UX over the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update to run smoothly over the powerful hardware.
The Note 3 also comes with the enhanced S Pen experience. Samsung has also added a new feature called KNOX - a new security feature that ensures the user to run security-sensitive applications and data in a secured container environment.
Other features include WiFi (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac), Near Field Communication, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, IR LED blaster, MHL 2.0 and GPS with GLONASS support. It also comes with a variety of sensors such as Gesture, Accelerometer, Geo-magnetic, Gyroscope, RGB, Proximity, Barometer, Temperature & Humidity and Hall Sensor.
The Galaxy Note 3 comes with a Li-ion 3200 mAh battery. It is likely to cost over Rs 40,000 in India.
