New Delhi: Samsung has launched a new budget smartphone, the Galaxy J1, in India at Rs. 7,190. The phone is available on Amazon India.
The handset comes with offers worth Rs 2,000, with Rs 600 worth of free 2G/ 3G data on Reliance Communications and Aircel, apart from a free content package worth Rs 1,400 to be availed on Starsports.com.
Samsung Galaxy J1 buyers will get 500MB of 2G/ 3G data per month for 6 months as part of an offer from Reliance Communications and Aircel.
Galaxy J1 features a 4.3-inch (480x800 pixels) WVGA TFT display and is powered by an unspecified dual-core 1.2GHz processor coupled with 512MB of RAM. It is a dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) handset that offers 4GB of inbuilt storage, which is further expandable via microSD card (up to 64GB). It runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box.
The handset sports a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and has a secondary 2-megapixel front-facing camera.
Camera add-ons on Galaxy J1 include 'palm selfie' and 'tap to pick' which gives more options and flexibility to capture the user's favourite moments.
Connectivity options include 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Micro-USB, and Bluetooth options. The smartphone packs an 1850mAh battery, which according to the online retailer's listing is rated to deliver up to 10 hours of talk time. The device offers an Ultra Power Saving Mode which extends the battery usage.
