Mumbai, Oct 7 : The Indian rupee rose by 30 paise to Rs 49.04 per US dollar in early trade on the Interbank Foreign Exchange today, supported by euro gains against the American currency and a rebound in the domestic stock market.
Dealers said dollar weakness against the euro and other currencies overseas and gains recorded by domestic bourses in early trade influenced the rupee sentiment.
The rupee had closed 6 paise higher at Rs 49.34/35 against the US currency in Thursday's trade on dollar-selling by exporters. The domestic market was closed yesterday on account of the 'Dussehra' festival.Meanwhile, the BSE benchmark Sensex rebounded by 481.64 points, or 3.05 per cent, to 16,274.05 in opening trade today.PTI
