Jaipur: The automobile world has been evolving and adapting changes at a rapid pace so as to cater to a larger audience. We could be witnessing the rise of yet another segment in the form of microSUV that has all the potential to achieve the same success as that of compact SUV.

Realizing the potential in the segment, Mahindra seems to be jumping the bandwagon with its new entry by the name of KUV100 which is all set to launch in January of 2016.

Considering the excitement that Renault Kwid has generated, there are high hopes from Mahindra KUV100 as well.

So let us take a look at some of the reasons that could make this newcomer a definite hit among the masses.

1. It has a reliable engine

KUV

Mahindra KUV100 comes in new different engine variants of petrol and diesel.

The diesel variant is the mFalcon D75 that is powered by a 1.2 litre 3-cylinder turbo motor while the petrol trim is backed by the mFalcon G80 that uses a 1.2 litre 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol motor.

There is some difference as far as the numbers regarding power and torque is concerned with the diesel motor generating 77bhp power at 3750rpm along with peak torque of 190Nm in-between 1750rpm to 2250rpm.

The petrol engine on the other hand, produces 82bhp power at 5500rpm along with 114Nm torque at 3500rpm.

2. It would be extremely affordable

For the kind of specs Mahindra KUV100 will be offering, the microSUV is going to be well within an affordable range.

There is no news on the official pricing of the car but expect the microSUV to be priced around Rs.4.7 lacs which will keep it in hunt with the likes of Hyundai Grand i10, Maruti Suzuki Swift and the 2015 Ford Figo.

3. Ample of features inside the cabin

Step inside the cabin and Mahindra KUV100 will treat you with plenty of connectivity and entertainment elements.

The microSUV will come with features like USB, Mahindra's Blue sense app integration, intellipark reverse assist, Bluetooth connectivity, voice messaging service, AUX-in etc.

The cabin is quite spacious as well and has a 6 seater capacity where the centre seat can be folded and converted into an armrest with a cup holder.

4. ABS as standard

KUV

Mahindra KUV100 would have a lot to offer in the safety department which is a good sign especially for a vehicle of this range. Mahindra KUV100 comes with ABS as standard feature across all its variants while there will be dual front airbags as well that can be chosen for the base variant.

5. Automatic Transmission System

Mahindra KUV100 comes with a 5 speed manual transmission system for all its variants.

Currently, there is a craze for the automatic transmission cars in the market, but Mahindra KUV100 initially would be missing out on the same.

However, if speculations are to be believed, Mahindra has tied up Magnetti Marelli, the Italian manufacturer who supplies AMT kits.

So, Mahindra can provide the AMT system pretty soon after the official launch which will give the vehicle a lot of versatility.
