New Delhi: Sony has launched the PlayStation 4 video gaming console in India at Rs 39,990.
Worldwide, the console has already exceeded 2.1 million units mark as of December 1.
And according to MCV, it also helped spur sales for the PlayStation Vita.
The PS Vita reported a jump of 68 percent in sales within the PS4′s launch week, increasing 65 percent more in the week following.
Sony senior product manager Ben Law stated that, “PS Vita sales wise we are continuing to see strong week-on-week growth since our latest campaign kicked in.
The new TV advert went live this week and we've already seen amazing feedback from PS4 owners on the Remote Play feature, and the success of Tearaway highlights what a great proposition PS Vita is, either as a stand-alone device or as the perfect companion to PS4.”
The PlayStation 4 is powered by an eight-core AMD Jaguar CPU, and features 500GB hard drive, 8GB of unified memory, built-in Blu Ray drive and the new DualShock 4 controller.
The PlayStation 4 also features 802.11 b/g/n WiFi connectivity option, an Ethernet port, Bluetooth 2.1, and two USB 3.0 ports.
