New Delhi: Smartphone lovers in India can now pre-order the Galaxy Note 3 and its companion smartwatch, the Galaxy Gear. Though Samsung has not revealed the prices of both the products, it is offering a combo deal for the two for a pre-booking amount of just Rs2,000.

While the Galaxy Note 3 is likely to cost in the range of Rs 50,000, the Galaxy Gear could cost around Rs. 20,000, and the combined package will most likely not have any discounts.

The Note 3 has a bigger screen than its predecessor, measuring 5.7in (14.5cm) diagonally compared with the Note 2's 5.5in (14cm). But it weighs less (167 grams compared with 182 grams) and is slightly thinner at 0.33in (8.4mm) rather than 0.37in (9.4mm). The Galaxy Note 3 is the successor to the Galaxy Note II smartphone launched last year. The Galaxy Note 3 features a 5.7-inch full HD Super AMOLED (1920 x 1080) screen, improved stylus functions, the latest Exynos 5 Octa processor clocked at 1.9GHz and a 13-megapixel camera. The smartphone comes with 3GB of RAM, your choice of 32 or 64GB internal storage, microSDXC support, IR LED, MHL 2.0, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac and a 3,200mAh removable battery.

The device also comes with LTE Cat4 support along with quadband DC-HSPA+ 42Mbps and quadband GSM / EDGE. By the way, the rear camera is capable of recording UHD resolution at 30fps and full HD at 60fps.

The distinguishing feature of the Note family is the S Pen, a dinky stylus stowed away in the bottom of the phablet. The Note 3 expands upon the S Pen's capabilities, making it more than an unnecessary accessory strictly for any old-timers who haven't yet figured out touch screens.

The GALAXY Note 3 enables enhanced multitasking capabilities that allow users to fully utilize the larger screen. With the new Multi Window, users can toggle seamlessly between applications without closing the window or opening a new page, allowing for enhanced productivity and collaboration across programs.

The Galaxy Gear, is Samsung's foray into smartwatches. The smartwatch has a 1.9-megapixel camera and comes with an initial suite of 70 apps. It also features S-Voice and users can both receive and make calls directly from it when it is paired with a compatible device. At the moment, it is only compatible with the Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 edition) though Samsung has said it will soon be compatible with the Galaxy S4, Galaxy S III and Note II.
